Round 3 Begins - General Rules and Info
Welcome to Round 3 of cuddy_fest!

Your friendly neighbourhood administrators are swatkat24, hihoplastic, and ijemanja.

Official Dates

- Starting now (June 5th) we will be collecting prompts over in the official Prompts Post. (Note: Submitting prompts does not mean you have to produce any fic. Unless you want to. You really do want to, right?)

- June 20th - is when people can start making claims in the Claims Post (to be opened later). Writing awesome fic about Cuddy will then commence. Prompts will be available for claiming right up until the due date.

- July 30th - is when the comm will be open for you to start posting your stories, yay!

- August 10th - is the deadline for posting your stories. Please don't be late! (We'll do our best to remind you, of course.)

General Rules

- No flaming, trolling, etc, anywhere in the comm. Cuddy frowns on it.

- All pairings, ratings, het, slash, threesomes, moresomes, crossovers, and AUs, are welcome. And please don't forget gen. We really, really like Cuddy gen. Also, cowboys.

- Your stories are your own. Once you have posted them here (or posted them in your own LJ and provided the link here), feel free to x-post at will.

- Information regarding how to submit prompts can be found over in the Prompts Post. Similarly, info on the claiming of prompts will be in the Claims Post.

- You may join this comm - in fact, we encourage it. Also, add it to your flist, so that you can keep up with any modly announcement posts. (Don't worry, there won't be many.) Comm will be open for the posting of stories from July 30th.

- You may claim only two prompts. If you are done with them in time, feel free to come back for more!

- Once a prompt has been claimed, it will be crossed off the list i.e. no longer up for claiming.

- If you were a participant in the previous rounds of the fest and wish to finish something from either of those rounds, please feel free to do so. However, they will be considered (very) late submissions for Rounds One/Two, and not submissions for Round Three, and should be posted AFTER Round Three is concluded (i.e, after the Round Three masterlist has been posted.) In fact, you don't have to participate in Round Three to post something from Rounds One/Two, although we would love for you to do so.

- Due to lack of interest during last years fest, this round will not be accepting artworks, only fic. If you would be interested in having art reinstated during next year's fest, please feel free to express your enthusiasm with a mod. :)

- Any questions? Comment to this post, and a friendly mod-type person will answer as soon as possible.

Submission Rules and Information

- Stories must be at least 800 words in length.

- Stories must be complete, as in one-shots. No works-in-progress.

- Stories must focus on Cuddy in some way. Meaning she is one of the main characters, if not the main character. Other POVs and such are of course fine but, come on people, it's called Cuddy Fest.

- Poetry is welcome. Your entry should, at least, be sonnet-length.

- Betas are fabulous! As are spell-checkers. Also, things like decent grammar and punctuation always go over well. (Cuddy certainly approves of them.)

- Please provide the usual information when posting - Title, Rating, Characters/Pairing, content warnings and spoiler notices, being the important ones.

- Please have your fic/s ready by the due date, August 10th! We shall be poking you with our pointy sticks to remind you about the approaching deadline, of course. The community will be left open for the posting of late submissions, but your story will not be added to the Cuddy Fest Master List of Awesome. And you wouldn't want that, now, would you?

- If, for whatever reason, after claiming a prompt, you know you won't be able to write it? Please let us know so that we can open it back up for someone else to claim.

- Again, any questions? Comment to this post. We'll get back to you ASAP.

I know that prompts/claims make the fest-world go 'round, but if I write a Cuddy-fic not in response to a prompt, is it still admissible?

Alas, not for this fest. You could always post it on cuddelstein. Or, if by the time all the prompts have been submitted you find one that seems to fit your story, you can use that. But all stories submitted to cuddy_fest need to be in response to a prompt submitted in this round.

I hope that answers your question!

I'm away for the whole of the posting & not sure about net access. I travel back on the 11th August... so would it be alright to post then? I'm planning on writing before I go away so it's just a case of being around to actually submit.

Thanks for letting us know. Posting when you get back should be fine - the past two rounds we have ended up extending the final due date, and it is quite likely that will happen again. :D

Alternatively, you could arrange to have someone post your fic/s to the community for you. Mods would be happy to do this for you, just email one of us the story along with the correct header information.
